1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Sokin mobile app or the website at getsokin.app (together, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Sokin is a mobile application that helps users track screen time, run focus sessions, build healthier digital habits, and stay connected with their family through shared challenges and progress summaries. Some features require a paid subscription (“Sokin Premium”).
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (16 years old in the European Economic Area). If you are a minor under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
4. Accounts
You sign in to Sokin using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@getsokin.app if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Sokin Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. Pricing and billing periods are shown in the app before purchase.
- Billing is processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or, on Android, by Viauz — not by Sokin directly. Your payment information is handled by those providers.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Renewal charges are made by the platform on which you purchased.
- To manage or cancel your subscription, use your Apple ID settings (iOS) or your Google Play account settings (Android). On Viauz, follow Viauz’s cancellation flow.
- Refunds, where available, are handled by the platform that processed your payment under its own refund policy.
- Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
6. License to use the app
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Sokin grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Sokin mobile app on devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
7. User content
You retain ownership of the content you create or upload — including your display name, profile photo, family circle name, and any messages you send within the app. You grant Sokin a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display such content solely as needed to provide the Service to you and the family members you choose to share with.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or impersonate any person, including via family circle messaging.
- Scrape, copy, or harvest data from the Service using automated tools.
- Attempt to access another user’s account, data, or family circle without authorization.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or attempt to bypass security or rate limits.
9. Intellectual property
The Sokin name, logo, and all software, text, graphics, and other content provided through the Service are owned by Sokin and its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right or license to use any Sokin trademark without our prior written consent.
10. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party services, including Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, the Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, Sentry, Viauz (Android), and Anthropic Claude (which powers the AI Coach). Your use of those features is also governed by the respective providers’ terms and policies. Sokin is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the in-app Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if your account presents a risk to other users or the Service. On termination, your license to use the Service ends, but Sections 7 (your content), 9 (intellectual property), 12–15 (disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law), and 17 (miscellaneous) survive.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Sokin is a productivity tool — it is not a medical, therapeutic, or psychiatric service, and should not be used as a substitute for professional advice.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Sokin, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues. Sokin’s total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to Sokin in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50 if you have not paid Sokin anything.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sokin and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party right.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved in the competent courts of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
16. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app and update the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
